IDENTIFICATION CRITERIA |

Welcome to the Society In order for the Society to comply with Money Laundering Regulations the following criteria is required to prove identification. All documents produced must state full name and current residential address. |
If you are an existing Member of The Chorley Building Society, providing full identification criteria has been met previously, no further documents are required. |
If you are a new member over 18 years of age, please provide identification, one from List A and one from List B. The same document cannot be used twice. |
If you are a member under 18 years of age please provide one form of identification from List C. |
Original documents are the preferred format; printed documents from the Internet are not acceptable. In the event that these cannot be provided certified copies will be accepted in the following format ONLY:- Stamped with an official stamp stating the position and full contact details of the person certifying the document, signed and dated (within the current month) by a Police Officer, Solicitor or Bank/Building Society Manager. |

List A |
| |
List A comprises of one of the following |
|
- Current valid UK or EC Photo card Driving Licence including counterpart (full or provisional)
|
- Current valid signed old style UK Driving Licence (full only)
|
- Current Firearms Certificate issued by the Police Force
|
- National Identity card (non UK nationals)
|
- Identity card issued by the Electoral Office of Northern Ireland
|
- Inland Revenue tax notification dated within the last 12 months
|
- Evidence of entitlement to state or local authority funded benefit dated within the last 6 months (including housing benefit, council tax benefit, tax credit, state pension, child benefit and education grant)

List B comprises of one of the following |
- Instrument of court (i.e. Grant of Probate)
|
- Current Council Tax letter or statement
|
- Current Bank/Building Society statements (Mortgage or Investment account), or Credit/Debit card statements issued by regulated financial sector firm in the UK dated within the last twelve months
|
- Current Utility bill dated within the last 3 months
|

List C comprises of one of the following |

- Current valid Passport with photograph
|
- Child Benefit documentation
|
- Child Tax Credit documentation
|
- Child Trust Fund documentation
|
- National Insurance card for 16 to 18 year olds only
|
