Job Purpose
To generate and develop new mortgage opportunities within the professional and business community which support the achievement of the new business expectations in Mortgages, and to represent the Society in its community activities.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- To Identify and develop new business relationships, as agreed with Senior Business Development Manager, to support the overall achievement of the Society’s gross lending expectations for residential mortgages.
- Focusing on the agreed region, build a network of firms and brokers. Identify and agree key accounts with line manager that have the potential to increase mortgage lending for both the Direct and Intermediary channels.
- Responsible for own lead generation and appointment booking.
- Act as an expert and educator for brokers on Chorley BS lending policy, lending products and the areas of lending we operate in.
- Support the Senior Business Development Manager and attend industry functions and events.
- Organise, attend and implement seminars/events to generate leads for the society across the whole lending area.
- Act as a telephone and email point of contact for Brokers outside of the areas covered by BDMs.
- Collate feedback from contacts discussing potential changes for enhancing the Society’s mortgage schemes with the Senior Business Development Manager regarding lending products and criteria.
- Build and maintain a good understanding of key competitor products and provide general support and business opportunities to the marketing team.
- To act as a Brand ambassador within the local area.
- Support the society at external marketing events, including community focused activity.
- Adopt a flexible approach towards daily working hours to meet demands of the role as they arise.
- Comply with all legal responsibilities, regulatory requirements and codes of conduct relevant to the business.
- Attend training courses and undertake examinations as appropriate for this Job Description and as an employee of the Society to ensure job and personal skills are maintained to the satisfactory standard required by the Society.
- Carry out such other duties, which are consistent with the nature, responsibilities and expectations of the position.
- To provide support to the mortgage team in their relationships with mortgage intermediaries and vice versa.
- All frameworks, policies and procedures relevant to this role must be complied with.
